There's always the curse where if programming is an art, it's not very accessible. It's easier to appreciate a beautiful painting, perhaps more cerebral to appreciate certain kinds of poems, but you really need a lot of technical grounding to appreciate a beautiful program, which doesn't diminish it as an art. If anything, it levels the challenge at us: How can we make this more accessible? How can we communicate this to a broader range of people? I don't know the answers but it's a pursuit worth pursuing.
